Past Present & Beyond
“Waterfront’s location in the historic Eau Claire neighbourhood traces its beginnings back to 1886 when the Eau Claire Lumber Company opened up a sawmill on the site. As one of Calgary’s first major industries, the sawmill employed hundreds and was the catalyst for growth as more mills, laundries and residences filled out the area.
As downtown Calgary grew, the character of Eau Claire evolved as Greyhound Bus Lines became a major downtown employer, with the opening of their offices in the Southam building, nearby terminal and their bus garage on this very site in 1946.
2006 marked the beginning of the final transformation of this historic site. The completion of towers One and Two are the first milestones in this multi-phase redevelopment of Eau Claire. These downtown Calgary condos will re-energize the area once again to bustle with residents enjoying life on this beautiful stretch of prime waterfront in thoughtfully designed, luxury surroundings. This truly is a location that deserves to be lived in.
